These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Smart Route BD mobile application (the “App”) provided by NewAgeDevs (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. How the App handles information is explained separately in the Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

Smart Route BD is a free travel reference for getting around Bangladesh. It brings together:

  • Dhaka local bus routes with their stops, a from-and-to route search and fares worked out from the published distance fare chart
  • Dhaka Metro MRT Line-6 stations, fares, discounts and timetable, and an NFC reader that shows the balance and recent journeys stored on your MRT Pass or Rapid Pass
  • Intercity, mail and commuter train timetables, stations, off days and estimated class fares
  • River launch vessels, sailing times, terminals and fares

Route, fare and timetable information ships inside the App and works without a connection. Vehicle photos are downloaded when you first view them. You do not need an account to use the App.

2. Unofficial App — No Affiliation

Smart Route BD is an independent app built by NewAgeDevs. It does not represent, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or authorised by any government entity, ministry, transport authority or operator — including Bangladesh Railway, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA), or any bus, launch or rail operator.

The App does not sell tickets, does not take payments, does not make reservations, and does not provide any government service. Names of authorities, operators, vessels and trains appear only to describe routes and to credit where the information came from. All names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

3. Accuracy of Route, Fare and Timetable Information

Timetables, stops and fares are compiled from information that transport authorities publish for the public, together with reports from riders, and are bundled into each release of the App. They are not live, and they are not an official statement of any route, fare or schedule. In particular:

  • Routes, stops, timetables, off days and fares change on the ground, often without notice, and the App only changes when a new version is released. Some information may be incomplete, incorrect or out of date.
  • Bus fares are calculated from the published distance fare chart. The fare an operator actually charges may differ.
  • Train fares are estimates based on distance, not a quote from a live tariff.
  • “Departing soon” badges and next-departure ordering are worked out from the timetable stored on your phone and your phone's clock. They do not track any vehicle and do not reflect delays or cancellations.
  • Vehicle photos are there to help you recognise a bus, train or launch. The vehicle that turns up may look different.

Always confirm times and fares with the operator or at the counter before you travel. The original sources are listed in the App under About → Where the data comes from. You are responsible for your own travel decisions.

If you find something that looks wrong, please tell us through the App's “Suggest a correction” or Feedback screens, or by email.

4. Transit Card Reader

The App can read an MRT Pass or Rapid Pass held against your phone's NFC reader and show the balance and recent journeys stored on the card. You agree to scan only cards that you own or that you have permission to read.

  • The App only reads the card. It cannot top up, spend from, or change the card in any way.
  • A saved balance is as of the last time you scanned the card, and may no longer be current.
  • The reading is not an official statement. If a balance or journey looks wrong, or your card is lost, damaged or blocked, contact the card issuer — we cannot help with the card itself.
  • The reader needs a phone with NFC and may not work with every phone or every card.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will:

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Use it for your own personal, non-commercial travel planning.

You agree that you will not:

  • Present the App, or information taken from it, as official or as endorsed by any authority or operator.
  • Copy, scrape or bulk-download the App's compiled data or photos to republish or sell them.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or disrupt the App, its photo hosting or its advertising.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its code, design, and the Smart Route BD and NewAgeDevs names, is owned by NewAgeDevs. Transport information originates with the public sources credited in the App, and vehicle photos remain the property of their respective owners. These Terms do not give you any rights in them beyond using the App as intended.

7. Feedback and Corrections

If you send us a correction, suggestion or other feedback, you allow us to use it to improve the App and its data, without any obligation or payment to you. We do not have to act on every report.

8. Advertising

The App is free to use and is supported by advertising delivered through AppLovin MAX. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Ads are provided by third parties and we are not responsible for what they advertise. See the Privacy Policy for how ad data is handled.

9. Third-Party Services

The App relies on, or links to, third-party services — Google Play (installation, updates and reviews), Google Maps (route directions you choose to open), the authority websites listed as data sources, the hosting service that stores vehicle photos, the advertising network, and your own email app. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of these third parties, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App and all information in it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including any warranty that information is accurate, complete or current, that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any feature, such as the card reader, will work on your device.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NewAgeDevs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the App or reliance on its information — including missed or delayed journeys, missed connections, fare differences, or travel and accommodation costs.

12. Changes and Termination

We may update, change, suspend or discontinue the App, or any feature or data in it, at any time. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Changes are posted on this page and take effect when posted, and the date at the top shows the current version. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
