JellyVerse (“the game”) is developed and published by NewAgeDevs (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the game handles on Android and on iPhone, why, and what control you have over it.

1. The short version

The game itself does not collect, transmit or store any personal information about you. We run no server, there is no account, and your progress stays on your device. Three third-party services do handle data, and they are described below:

  • Advertising — the game is free and shows ads from AppLovin, which collects device identifiers and similar data to choose and measure ads (section 4). On iPhone, Apple’s tracking prompt asks your permission before your advertising identifier can be used.
  • Leaderboards and achievements — Google Play Games on Android, Game Center on iPhone, only if you are signed in (section 5).
  • Purchases — coins, the Starter Pack and Remove Ads, handled entirely by Google Play or the App Store (section 6).

2. Information stored on your device

JellyVerse saves the following locally, in the game’s own app storage on Android or iOS. The game never sends it to us, and we cannot see it:

  • Your best score and longest chain, games played, and the jellyfish you have found for your JellyDex
  • Your coins, boosters, player level, achievements, daily rewards and daily missions
  • Your best score in the day’s Daily Challenge, and how many times you have tried it
  • The worlds and skins you own, and which ones you use
  • A game left under way when you closed the app, so you can continue it
  • Whether you bought Remove Ads or the Starter Pack, and the ids of purchases already delivered, so none is delivered twice
  • Your settings: sound, music, their volumes, and vibration

Uninstalling the game deletes all of it. The game has no cloud save of its own and we have no way to restore it. Your device’s own backup — Android’s backup to your Google account, or an iCloud or computer backup of your iPhone — may include this data if you have backup turned on; that backup is under your control and we never see it.

3. Permissions

The game does not ask you to grant any permission on Android. The permissions it declares are ones Android grants automatically:

  • Internet and network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, and ACCESS_WIFI_STATE declared by the AppLovin SDK) — to load ads, talk to Google Play Games and Google Play Billing, and check whether a connection is available. The game itself plays offline.
  • Advertising ID (AD_ID) — lets the ad SDK read your device’s advertising identifier (section 4).
  • Billing (BILLING) — lets Google Play handle in-game purchases.
  • Licence check (CHECK_LICENSE, declared by the AppLovin SDK) — a Google Play licensing check used by the ad SDK.
  • Vibration (VIBRATE) — for the game’s haptic feedback, which you can turn off in Settings.

On iPhone, the only permission the game can ask for is App Tracking Transparency (section 4.2).

4. Advertising

4.1 What the ad service collects

The game shows occasional ads between games and optional rewarded ads, served through AppLovin MAX. The current version contains AppLovin’s SDK only: no other ad network’s SDK (mediation adapter) is built into the game on Android or iPhone, so ads are supplied through AppLovin and the advertisers that buy ad space from it. To select and measure ads, AppLovin may collect:

  • Your device’s advertising identifier — the Google advertising ID on Android; on iPhone, the IDFA only if you allow tracking (section 4.2)
  • Other device identifiers and device information such as model, operating system version, language and network type
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address
  • Your interactions with the ads shown to you
  • Diagnostic data about how the ad SDK is performing, such as crashes and load times

We do not receive or store this information — we see only aggregated reports from AppLovin, such as how many ads were shown. It is handled by AppLovin under its own privacy policy, which also explains who it shares data with and how to exercise your rights with it: https://www.applovin.com/privacy/

4.2 On iPhone: App Tracking Transparency

The first time the ad system starts on iPhone, iOS shows Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt (“Your data will be used to show you ads that suit you better. You can still play JellyVerse either way.”).

  • If you choose Allow, AppLovin may use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalise and measure ads using data from other companies’ apps and websites.
  • If you choose Ask App Not to Track, the IDFA is not made available to the game or to AppLovin. You still see ads, just less relevant ones, and nothing in the game is locked.

You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Ad install attribution on iPhone also uses Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which reports conversions to ad networks without identifying you.

4.3 On Android: your advertising ID

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in your device’s settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads on some devices), which also lets you opt out of ad personalisation. Doing so does not remove ads; they become non-personalised.

Where the law asks for consent, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the game shows a consent form the first time it runs, and every ad respects your answer. You can change your choice at any time from the game’s Settings → Privacy options.

4.5 Remove Ads

If you buy Remove Ads, the ads between games stop, and the rewards that rewarded ads give are granted without a video.

5. Leaderboards and achievements

Leaderboards (High Score and the Daily Challenge) and the game’s 24 achievements are optional, and work only if you are signed in to Google Play Games on Android or Game Center on iPhone. When you are:

  • the game sends your score at the end of each game, and each achievement you earn;
  • your scores appear on public leaderboards, under your Play Games or Game Center name, for other players to see;
  • Google or Apple tell the game your player name and id, which it uses only while it runs.

Google and Apple handle this under their own privacy policies: Google and Apple. You can review and delete your Play Games data from your Google account, and manage your Game Center data from your Apple Account. Without signing in, the whole game plays the same, apart from the online leaderboards and achievements.

6. Purchases

The game sells coin packs, a Starter Pack and Remove Ads. Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play or the App Store: your payment details go to them, and are never seen by, or sent to, the game or us. They keep their own record of your purchase under their privacy policies. Remove Ads is tied to your store account, so you can restore it on a new device from the game’s Settings.

7. What the game does not do

The game does not:

  • Ask for or store your name, email address, phone number or contacts
  • Access your camera, microphone, photos, files or precise location
  • Offer chat or any way for players to contact each other
  • Include analytics or crash-reporting tools, beyond the crash reports the stores collect for every app
  • Sell your personal information

8. Children

JellyVerse is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

9. Data retention and deletion

  • On-device data: deleted when you uninstall the game (or, on Android, when you clear the game’s storage).
  • Advertising data: retained by AppLovin under its own policy. Reset or delete your advertising ID on Android, or turn off tracking on iPhone, to break the link with your device.
  • Play Games data: delete through your Google account settings.
  • Game Center data: managed through your Apple Account and the Game Center settings on your iPhone.
  • Purchase records: kept by Google Play or Apple as part of your account.
  • Emails to us: if you write to us, we keep your message only as long as it takes to answer it, and will delete it on request.

Because we operate no server and hold no account for you, there is no other data in our possession to request deletion of.

10. Changes to this policy

If the game starts collecting anything not described here, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the “Last updated” date at the top will change.
