Smart Route BD (“the app”) is a free app built by NewAgeDevs (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information: what stays on your phone, what leaves it, who receives it and why. It applies to the Android app published as com.newage.bdbusroute, and replaces the policy dated 18 August 2026.
Smart Route BD is an unofficial, independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by any government entity, transport authority or operator. The rules for using the app are in the Terms of Use.
1. The short version
- You do not need an account. The app never asks for your name, email, phone number or address.
- There is no analytics or crash reporting in the app. Apart from the photo downloads described in section 3, the app sends nothing to us, and the only personal information we ever receive is an email you choose to send us (section 5).
- Your favourites, recent searches, recently viewed routes and any transit card you scan stay on your phone. The app never uploads them.
- The app does not ask for location permission and does not read your location.
- Vehicle photos are downloaded from our photo store, hosted on Supabase, the first time you view them. The request carries no identifier.
- The app shows ads served by AppLovin, which collects device and usage information to deliver them (section 4).
2. Information the app stores on your device
All of this lives in the app's private storage on your phone. The app does not send it to us or to anyone else, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
- Route data. Bus routes and stops, metro, train and launch timetables, stations and fares ship inside the app. Browsing and searching them does not contact any server.
- Favourites. Buses, trains and launches you save.
- Recent searches and recently viewed. The routes you looked up and the bus, train and launch pages you opened, so Home can offer them again.
- Transit card readings. If you tap an MRT Pass or Rapid Pass, the app reads the card's chip identifier, balance and recent journeys over NFC and shows them to you. The reading is saved on your phone, together with any nickname and card type you set, so you can see it again without rescanning. You can forget a saved card at any time. The app only reads the card: it cannot spend from, top up, or make any change to it.
- Settings and housekeeping. Your dark-mode preference, how many times the app has been opened and when a rating or update prompt was last shown (so you are not asked too often), and when the last full-screen ad was shown (so ads are spaced out).
- Cached photos. Vehicle photos you have viewed, so they load again with no connection.
If you have Android's own backup to your Google account switched on, Android may include this app data in that backup. That backup belongs to your Google account and is handled by Google; we cannot access it.
3. Vehicle photos
Bus, launch and train photos are not bundled with the app. The first time you open a page with a photo, the app downloads it over HTTPS from our photo store, which is hosted by Supabase, and then keeps it in the app's cache. Android or the app may clear old cached photos to free space, in which case a photo is downloaded again the next time you view it.
The request carries no account, no advertising identifier and no other identifier — only what any web request carries: your IP address, the time, and the name of the photo. Supabase keeps standard request logs, which include the IP address, under its own privacy policy, and as the owner of the photo store we can view them. The app sends nothing that would tie a request to you. Photos are the only content the app downloads; routes, fares and timetables are never fetched.
4. Advertising
The app is free and shows ads (banner, full-screen and app-open ads) through AppLovin MAX. AppLovin's SDK is the only advertising SDK in the app; no other ad network's SDK is included. AppLovin may fill an ad request with ads from advertisers and partners that buy through its own marketplace, as described in its privacy policy.
To deliver and measure those ads, AppLovin may collect:
- your device's advertising identifier
- device and app information, such as model, operating system version, language and app version
- network information, including your IP address, from which an approximate (city or country level) location can be inferred
- ad interaction events, such as an ad being shown or tapped
This information is collected by AppLovin, not by NewAgeDevs. We see only aggregated reports, such as how many ads were shown, and we cannot identify you from them.

- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android device (on some devices, Settings → Google → Ads). Ads will still appear, but they will not be personalised.
5. Emails you send us
The Feedback, Help & Support and “Suggest a correction” screens do not send anything themselves. They open your own email app with a message to imamagun94@gmail.com already filled in. Feedback and correction messages include a short footer with the app version, your phone's manufacturer and model, and its Android version, so we can reproduce problems. You can read and edit the whole message before you send it, and nothing reaches us unless you press send.
If you do send it, we receive your email address and whatever the message contains. We use it only to reply and to fix the app or its data, and we keep it only as long as that takes. You can ask us to delete your correspondence at any time.
6. Permissions the app asks for

The advertising SDK also adds the advertising-ID permission and permissions to check whether you are online (network and Wi-Fi state). The notifications library adds vibration permission. None of these lets the app read your personal content.
The app does not request location permission, does not use your camera or microphone, and does not read your contacts, photos, files or messages.
7. Other services
- Google Play handles app updates and in-app review prompts under Google's privacy policy.
- Google Maps. If you tap the map button (“View route on Google Maps”) on a bus route, the app opens Google Maps with the route's first and last stop names so it can show directions. Google Maps then works under Google's privacy policy.
- Sharing and links. If you share the app or open a link — a data-source website, another app on Google Play, or an email address — your device hands that action to the app you pick. What that app or website does is covered by its own policy.
8. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. How to remove your data
Everything the app holds is on your device. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Settings → Apps → Smart Route BD → Storage, removes all of it, including saved cards and cached photos. You can also clear recent searches and forget saved cards inside the app. Because the app sends us nothing, there is nothing for us to delete on our side — apart from any email you sent us, which we will delete on request.
For data held by AppLovin, use the advertising-ID controls in section 4, or contact AppLovin under its own policy.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Changes are posted on this page and take effect when posted. The date at the top shows the current version.
