App: InSaver: Reels Downloader (Google Play package com.newagedevs.reels_video_downloader)

NewAgeDevs developed InSaver: Reels Downloader (“InSaver”, “the app”, “we”, “us”), formerly listed as Reels Video Downloader, as a free app with ads and optional paid Premium plans. This page explains what the app does with information when you use it: what stays on your phone, what leaves it, who receives it and why, and the choices you have. It replaces the policy dated 15 May 2026.
1. The short version
- There is no InSaver account and we run no servers of our own. Links you paste, the media you download and your Instagram or Threads session stay on your phone.
- Public reels and posts download without signing in. For stories, highlights and private accounts you can sign in on Instagram's or Threads' own login page inside the app. Your password goes to Meta, not to us; the app keeps the resulting login cookie on your phone and uses it only to request media from Instagram or Threads.
- The free version shows ads served through AppLovin MAX and its partner networks InMobi, Liftoff Monetize (Vungle), Meta Audience Network, Mintegral and Unity Ads. These companies collect your device's advertising identifier and similar data (section 4.1). Premium turns ads off.
- We use Google Firebase to count app usage and ad revenue, to send notifications, and to supply the Trending feed (section 4.2).
- We never receive your Instagram or Threads username, password, messages, or the files you download.
2. What the app does
InSaver downloads reels, posts, stories, highlights, photos and videos from Instagram and Threads to your phone. You can paste or share a link into the app, or browse Instagram and Threads in the app's built-in browser and tap a download button. The app also extracts the audio track from a downloaded video (on your phone, using FFmpeg), plays and organises your downloads in a built-in gallery, can set a downloaded photo as your wallpaper or a downloaded audio file as your ringtone, shows a Trending feed of reels, and remembers the creators you download from most.
InSaver is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Instagram, Threads or Meta Platforms, Inc.
3. Information Collection and Use: what stays on your device
The app keeps the following in its own storage on your phone. It is not sent to us.
- Downloaded files. Videos, photos and audio are saved to the
Download/ReelsVideoDownloadfolder in your phone's shared storage, so your gallery and other apps with media access can see them. They stay there if you uninstall the app. - History and recent creators. Links you have searched or downloaded (with title, thumbnail link and date), the creators you download from (username, profile-picture link, how often and when), profiles you have recently viewed (account ID, username, display name, profile-picture link), and the caption and author username of each post you download, kept with the file so you can copy the caption later.
- Trending feed cache. The Trending items the app has fetched, and which of them you have watched.
- Settings. Theme, language, download and search behaviour, whether clipboard detection is on, favourites and gallery sort order, whether Premium is active and which plan, and counters the app uses to space out ads (when the last ad was shown, how many this session).
- Instagram and Threads cookies. If you sign in through the built-in browser, the login cookies Instagram or Threads set are stored by Android's WebView inside the app (see section 5).
For a better experience the app may ask for certain permissions (section 6). What those permissions give access to is used on your device and is not collected by us in any way.
The app allows Android's standard app-data backup. If backup to your Google account is turned on for your device, Android may include the app's settings and database in that backup, which Google stores under your account; we cannot access it.
4. Information that leaves your device
4.1 Advertising (free version)
The free version shows banner, native, interstitial, rewarded and app-open ads through AppLovin MAX, which runs an auction among the ad networks built into the app. To select, show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, these companies may collect:
- Your device's advertising identifier (and Android's app-set ID)
- Device information such as model, operating system version, language, screen size and network type
- Your IP address and the approximate location derived from it
- Which ads were shown to you and how you interacted with them
We do not receive this information. Each company handles it under its own privacy policy:
| Company | Role in the app | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| AppLovin (MAX) | Ad mediation and ads | applovin.com/privacy |
| InMobi | Ad network | inmobi.com/privacy-policy |
| Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) | Ad network | liftoff.io/privacy-policy |
| Meta Audience Network | Ad network | facebook.com/privacy/policy |
| Mintegral | Ad network | mintegral.com/en/privacy |
| Unity Ads | Ad network | unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy |
If you are in the EEA, the UK or another region where the law requires consent for personalised advertising, a consent form may be shown before ads load, through AppLovin MAX's consent flow, which links to this policy and our Terms. Your choice is passed to the ad networks with each ad request.
When you have an active Premium plan, the app shows no ads and does not start the advertising SDK when it launches.
4.2 Google Firebase
The app uses three Firebase services, provided by Google under the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy terms:
- Firebase Analytics records how the app is used: app installs and opens, sessions, app updates, in-app purchases, and each ad impression (ad network, ad format, ad unit and the revenue it earned). Alongside these events it collects an app-instance ID, your advertising identifier, device model, operating system, language and approximate location from your IP address. We see this in the Firebase console as statistics. It does not include your name, email address, Instagram or Threads account, or what you download.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers notifications about new Trending reels and other NewAgeDevs apps. It gives your installation a messaging token and subscribes it to broad groups (all users, plus free or Premium users), which is how we send a message to everyone in a group.
- Cloud Firestore holds the Trending feed. The app only reads from it; nothing about you is written there. Like any internet request, Google's servers see your IP address when the feed loads.
4.3 Instagram and Threads (Meta)
To download something, the app requests that post, story or profile from Instagram or Threads, and the media files from their servers, directly from your phone. If you are signed in, those requests carry your login cookie, so Meta knows they come from your account. Meta also sees your IP address and the pages you open in the built-in browser. This is handled by Meta under the Instagram Privacy Policy and the Threads Supplemental Privacy Policy. None of it passes through us.
4.4 Google Play
Premium plans are sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and tells the app which product you bought and whether it is active; we never see your card or payment details. The app also uses Google Play's in-app update and in-app review features and Google Play services. All of this is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy.
4.5 Emails you send us
If you use the feedback or contact option, the app opens your email app with a draft that includes the app version and build, your device model and Android version. Nothing is sent unless you send that email. We receive your email address and what you write, and keep it only as long as needed to answer you.
5. Signing in and cookies
Cookies are small files containing limited data that are frequently employed as anonymous, unique identifiers. They are transmitted to your browser from the websites you visit and are stored in your device’s internal memory.
InSaver itself sets no cookies of its own. When you sign in to Instagram or Threads in the built-in browser, you sign in on Meta's official page, and Meta sets its login cookies in the app's WebView storage on your phone. The app reads those cookies so it can request stories, highlights and private posts on your behalf, and so you stay signed in next time. They are only ever sent to Instagram or Threads, never to us or to anyone else. The app never sees or stores your password.
Use Clear Cookies in the app's menu to sign out and delete these cookies at any time. The advertising SDKs may also use cookies and similar identifiers as described in their own policies.
6. Permissions
- Internet and network state: to download media, load the Trending feed and show ads.
- Notifications (Android 13 and later): to show download progress and the notifications described in section 4.2. You can refuse or turn them off at any time.
- Foreground service (data sync): keeps a download running, with a progress notification, if you leave the app.
- Storage (Android 12 and earlier only): to save downloads to the shared Download folder.
- Set wallpaper: used only when you choose “Set Wallpaper” on a downloaded photo.
- Modify system settings: used only when you choose “Set as Ringtone” on a downloaded audio file. Android asks you to allow it on its own settings screen first.
- Google Play billing: to sell and check Premium plans.
- Advertising ID and ad-attribution permissions: declared by Google Play services and the ad SDKs, which use them for advertising and analytics as described in section 4.
- Libraries in the app also declare routine technical permissions, such as keeping the device awake during work, resuming scheduled work after a restart, reading Wi-Fi state, vibration and the Play install referrer.
Clipboard. If you turn on “Auto-detect links from clipboard” in settings (it is off by default), the app reads the clipboard when you return to it and, if it holds an Instagram or Threads link, starts that download. Nothing else on the clipboard is kept or sent anywhere. While the setting is off, the app does not read the clipboard.
You can review and revoke permissions in Android's app settings. Revoking one only disables the feature that needs it.
7. Your choices
- Reset or delete your advertising identifier, or opt out of personalised ads, under your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path varies by device). Ads still appear, but they are no longer personalised.
- Answer or change the advertising consent form if it is shown in your region.
- Buy Premium to turn ads off completely.
- Use Clear Cookies to sign out of Instagram and Threads in the app.
- Turn notifications off in Android settings.
- Clear your download history and recent creators in the app, or clear all app data in Android settings.
8. Retention and deletion
Everything listed in section 3 stays on your phone until you delete it in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall it. Files in the Download folder stay until you delete them. We hold no account or profile for you, so there is nothing else for us to delete. Data collected by AppLovin, the ad networks, Google and Meta is kept under their own retention policies, linked above. Because Firebase Analytics data does not identify you, we cannot pick out your records individually. If you have emailed us, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.
9. Security
We highly appreciate the trust you place in us by using our App, and we are committed to employing commercially acceptable measures to protect your experience. The app's data is kept in Android's private per-app storage, which other apps cannot read (except downloaded files, which are in shared storage on purpose), and the app's own network requests use HTTPS. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, including for information handled by third-party SDKs.
10. Links to Other Sites
This Service may include links to other websites, and its built-in browser opens Instagram and Threads. Ads and notifications may also link to other sites and to Google Play. Clicking on a third-party link will redirect you to that respective site. It’s important to note that these external sites are not operated by us. Consequently, we highly recommend reviewing the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and take no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
11. Children’s Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add or remove an ad network. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the date at the top. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
