Hungry Fish: Eat, Grow, Evolve ("the game") is developed and published by NewAgeDevs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game handles, why, and what control you have over it.
1. The short version
Your progress stays on your device. The game asks for no account and no personal details; the first time it starts it asks the month and year you were born, which stay on your device. Players under 13 see no ads and send no usage statistics. For everyone else, advertising, provided by AppLovin and the networks it works with, collects data as described below. Anonymous usage statistics go to Google's Firebase Analytics, and you can turn them off in Settings. Purchases are handled by Google Play or the App Store. If you sign in to Google Play Games or Apple's Game Center, your achievements, scores and a backup of your progress go to them.
2. Information stored on your device
The game saves the following on your device. We cannot see it:
- Your progress: best scores and levels in each world, runs played, the creatures you have found, the worlds you have opened
- Your coins, skins, pets, boosts, achievements, missions, daily gifts, Daily Challenge results, Tide Pass progress and event prizes
- What you bought from the store (such as No Ads), and the ids of purchases already delivered, so none is delivered twice
- Your settings: sound, music, volumes, vibration, graphics, screen shake and usage statistics
- The month and year you were born, as you answered the game's question; it is never sent anywhere
Uninstalling the game deletes it, unless you keep a backup in Google Play Games or Game Center (below).
3. Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)
To learn how the game is played and make it better, the game sends anonymous usage statistics to Google's Firebase Analytics:
- how the game is used: runs started and finished (score, level, time), the worlds, skins and features used, rewards and missions completed, ads offered and watched, and purchases made (which product, and whether it went through);
- information Firebase collects itself: when the game is opened and for how long, the game's version, your device's model, operating system and language, and your approximate country (from your IP address, which Firebase does not keep);
- a random identifier Firebase creates for this installation of the game.
They carry no name, email or account, and the game does not let Firebase read your device's advertising identifier or use this data for advertising. Google processes it on our behalf under its own terms: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Your choice. Turn usage statistics off at any time in the game's Settings → Usage Stats; nothing more is sent. The data is kept for a limited time (up to 14 months) and then deleted.
4. Advertising
The game shows ads provided by AppLovin MAX and the advertising networks it mediates: short videos you choose to watch for a reward, and now and then an ad between runs. To choose and measure ads, these services may collect:
- your device's advertising identifier;
- device information, such as model, operating system version and language;
- approximate location, from your IP address;
- your interactions with the ads shown to you.
We do not receive or store this information. AppLovin and its partners handle it under their own privacy policies:
- AppLovin: https://www.applovin.com/privacy/
Your choices. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in your device's settings, which also opts you out of personalised ads. Ads then become non-personalised; they don't stop.
Where the law asks for consent (such as in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the game asks players 16 and over the first time ads start, and every ad respects your answer; you can change it at any time from the game's Settings → Ad Privacy. On iPhone and iPad, the system asks whether apps may track you, and the ads follow your answer.
Buying No Ads ends the ads between runs and gives every ad reward without the video; the advertising SDK then doesn't start at all.
5. Purchases
The game sells coins, bundles, No Ads and Tide Pass+. Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play or the App Store: your payment details go to them and are never seen by, or sent to, the game or us. They keep their own record of your purchase under their privacy policies. Products you keep (such as No Ads) are tied to your store account, so they come back on a new device; on iPhone, use Settings → Restore Purchases.
6. Google Play Games and Game Center
Achievements, leaderboards and the cloud backup are optional, and work only if you sign in to Google Play Games (on Android) or Game Center (on Apple devices). Then:
- the game sends them your achievements and your scores (the high score and the Daily Challenge's);
- your scores appear on leaderboards, under your Play Games or Game Center name, for other players to see;
- a copy of your progress is kept with your account, so you can restore it on another device;
- Google or Apple tell the game your player name and id, which it uses only while it runs.
Google and Apple handle this under their own privacy policies:
You can review and delete your Play Games data from your Google account, and your Game Center data from your Apple account. Without signing in, the whole game plays the same, apart from the online achievements, leaderboards and backup.
7. What the game does not do
The game does not:
- ask for or store your name, email address, phone number or contacts;
- access your camera, microphone, photos, files or precise location;
- offer chat or any way for players to contact each other;
- sell your personal information.
8. Children and young players
The game is for players of all ages. The first time it starts, it asks the month and year you were born. The answer stays on your device, is never sent to us or anyone else, and decides what follows:
- Under 13: no ads at all; the advertising SDK never starts. No usage statistics either; Firebase doesn't start. Every reward that would come with an ad comes without one. No personal information is collected from a child.
- 13 to 15: ads show, but never personalised. The game doesn't ask for consent to personalised ads or for permission to track, and tells AppLovin there is no consent and that the player's data may not be sold.
- 16 and over: as the rest of this policy describes.
Purchases go through Google Play or the App Store, under the parental controls of the player's Google or Apple account. Signing in to Google Play Games or Game Center uses the player's own Google or Apple account and its settings.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Keeping and deleting data
- On your device: deleted when you uninstall the game.
- Usage statistics: kept by Firebase for up to 14 months, then deleted automatically. As they carry nothing that identifies you, we can't pick out yours; turning them off in Settings stops any more being sent.
- Advertising data: kept by the ad networks under their own policies; reset your advertising identifier to break the link.
- Play Games and Game Center: kept by Google or Apple; delete them from your Google or Apple account.
We run no server of our own and hold no account for you.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to its use, or to complain to a data protection authority. As the game holds no personal data about you on any server of ours, most requests are about the services above; contact us and we will help.
11. Changes to this policy
If the game starts handling anything not described here, this policy will change before that version ships, with a new "Last updated" date.
